The old beer factory of the famous Estrella Damm beer is located in a well-known district of Barcelona. Nowadays the original factory building holds a museum, a visitor center, and a conference hall. The rest of the complex is used by the administration and distribution departments act as the Barcelonian headquarters and require special security arrangements. The role of the entrance to the complex can be changed daily: from normal daytime work area with
trucks loading and unloading goods to a city square for special events at night. Those two poles of privacy levels are the lead generator of the design solution. The geometry of the guard booths permits a complete disappearing of the fences, creating maximum openness to the street, while normally, during weekdays the fences are closed and permit a total secured and controlled entrance.
